Hi, I’m Dr. Nena Hisle - educator, animal lover, creative maker, and founder of Home Instead Pet Sitting & Buggy’s Bowties & Bandanas.

My journey started with two things I’ve always loved deeply:

caring for animals
creating things by hand that make people smile

As a lifelong pet lover, I understood how stressful it can feel to leave pets behind while traveling. I wanted to create a pet sitting experience that felt less like a kennel and more like home — where pets receive love, comfort, attention, cuddles, and personalized care. in a calm family environment. That vision became Home Instead Pet Sitting.

Over time, my creativity and love for animals naturally blend ed together. I began sewing handmade bow ties and bandanas because I wanted pets to look as special, stylish, and unique as the joy they bring to our lives.

What started as a creative outlet quickly became Buggy’s Bowties & Bandanas A collection of handmade accessories designed with personality, comfort, and fun in mind. For those of you who are also neurodivergent, you will understand how an idea became a passion-possibly an obsession, if you ask my friends and family!

Dog Sitting w/ Dr. Nena in Greentree

Hi there friends!! I'm Dr. Nena, and I'll be taking care of your house-trained, pet friendly, dog, in my Greentree home. I have been a life-long dog owner and lover, who turned a passion into reality. Raised in a household who always owned boxers; I have a natural inclination to love to be around dogs-lots of dogs!

Raised in Chartiers City and a 1989 graduate of Montour High School, I have spent the past 29 years as a middle school teacher, middle school counselor, and a high school counselor.

It is with both excitement and sadness that I will be retiring from K-12 education at the end of this school year, (June 2026). In addition to the three roles I have served, I earned my PhD in Instructional Management and Leadership from RMU in 2020.

I am absolutely thrilled that I will be able to devote more time to pursuing my goal of expanding my pet sitting business and creating hand-made bowties & bandanas for cats and dogs.

Buggy's Bowties & bandanas is a Black, neuro-divergent, woman owned business.

In addition to pet accessories, I make catnip toys and pet themed tote bags and t-shirts for pet parents.
